Located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads, Wroxham is well known for the department store Roys of Wroxham, but it also lends it’s name to Wroxham Barns, which is located close to Wroxham and Hoveton. At Wroxhams Barns you will find a farm with an indoor play area, craft shops, a fun fair, mini golf, and much more.
As well as Wroxham Barns, this area of Norfolk has lots of other places to visit, such as BeWILDerwood, Hoveton Hall Gardens and the Norfolk Broads.
Parent’s view
Animals, play areas and rides – a winner all the way! Wroxham Barns is a regular feature on my family when it comes to days out because it has a good range of features to keep the kids occupied. And they go when I’m not around too because my wife uses it as a place to meet up with her friends and their kids. I think the indoor play area will increase the attraction of this for many families because the kids can run around in a safe environment while the parents have a natter!
7 year old:- I love the fun fair, especially driving around on the quad bikes. Next time I’m definitely going to beat Dad at mini-golf (dream on, sunshine!)
3 year old:- Has it got animals? (Yes) It’s got rides hasn’t it? (Yes) And a play area with soft things for climbing on? (You mean an indoor softplay area? Yes!) Did I have an ice cream last time? (More than likely! Do you want to go to Wroxham Barns again?) YESSSSS!!!
Field Notes
Because there are quite a few things to do at Wroxham Barns it is worth having a good idea where you want to go first. We normally go to the farm first because if there any activities (such as lamb feeding) planned then you find out what time they’re on and arrange to be there, and the indoor play area is located in there too – great for tiring the kids out!
I a wander around the rides first and get an idea how many rides the kids will go on. Because the rides require token this helps me to decide how many tokens to buy. This also means bringing cash with you is a good idea!
If you go in the cafe and no one is serving there is a bell to the left of the counter – ring it and they will come.
