Information
The Magpie Centre – West Norfolk Riding for the Disabled (WNRDA) has been operating as a dedicated RDA Riding Centre from Wallington Hall for over 30 years. We offer equestrian activities to all age groups and, wherever possible, to people with any disability. We are situated at Wallington Hall, a tranquil, private estate near Downham Market. We give over 100 riding and carriage driving lessons a week which is supported by over 50 volunteers from the local community who help in lessons, with the ponies, with field maintenance and fundraising. We also offer ‘Tea with a Pony’ for those living with dementia or other disabilities and Equine Assisted Learning Therapy (EALT) a programme encouraging interaction between horses and people to promote mental well being.
It costs around £200,000 a year to keep the Magpie Centre running and much of this money comes from donations made by members of the public and local businesses. Find out more about WNRDA, how you can get involved and support their work.
