Information
Acle was granted a market charter in 1253. The livestock and local farmers’ market existed until into the 1970s but there is no longer a civically ran market, with the site of the market now a supermarket instead.
It was not until 2006 that a privately ran market stepped in to fill the void, and Acle Farmers Market has been running ever since. Acle Farmers Market is held in the Church Hall on the Second Saturday of every month, 9am – 12 noon. The market has offers a variety of different local produce, including food and drink (such as fresh fish, beer, cheese, baked goods) and hand-made crafts.
