In a recent post we brought you some of our reader’s memories about a beloved Norfolk animal attraction, the long-gone but not forgotten Norfolk Wildlife Park. Well, we’ve upped out “NWP” content with these additions below that are sure to bring back some wonderful memories, and perhaps intrigue readers who never got the opportunity to visit.
Also, to make life easier for NWP fans we’ve added a “tag” called “NWP Archive“, which you can find at the foot of any article about Norfolk Wildlife Park and its iterations, which means if you’ve happened upon of of these articles you can easily pull up a list of associated articles and reminisce to your heart’s content!
First up, we’ve compiled a collection of postcards from Norfolk Wildlife Park (NWP). We had a couple of these in our collection and the remainder we’ve been able to piece together with extensive research. Click play below to run through this collection of postcards. We’re keen for our archive to be comprehensive, so if you have any more postcards from Norfolk Wildlife Park (or its latter incarnations Norfolk Wildlife Centre & Country Park or Animal Ark) please do get in touch. The video below is on our YouTube channel – please like and subscribe to us on YouTube!
Over the years we’ve collected many brochures for attractions for places in Norfolk and beyond. During a recent clear out I happened upon the following items – A leaflet and a map from Animal Ark (the name of NWP in its final years) from 2010. What a find!Â

We’ve also included some screenshots of websites for the latter incarnations of NWP,  Norfolk Wildlife Centre and Country Park and Animal Ark. At the point of typing, the website for Norfolk Wildlife Centre and Country Park is very much in tact, despite changing hands in 2007. Here’s a screenshot from the front page. Â

Interestingly, the current website appears to be a memorial of how the website was in 2006. Digging in to it, the navigation is ever so slightly different. We have managed to find out more about what original website looked like (even back to 2001) but rather than make this page super-long we’ll hold on to additional screenshots for now. Â Okay, here’s one more for you from 2003. We do have a screenshot from 2001, but it’s not very pretty at all (lots of words and missing images).

Unfortunately the Animal Ark website has not fared as well, with very little information or images remaining. Bearing in mind it has been 14 years since Animal Ark closed, It’s surprising that anything remains on the website at all. Normally when a business disappears the websites follow pretty quickly. However, we have also found some historical views of this website, the best of which is probably this one below from 2009.

We hope you enjoyed this “time-capsule”. We may add some more old screenshots to this article in the near future.
