Have you seen the word on the street? Or maybe a drawing chalked on the path.
Introducing CHALK BOMB CHARITY, a family of four who started chalking the pavements outside their house for fun during the lockdown. However, this is not any ordinary chalking, this is interactive street art! From Animal Challenges, VE Day assault courses, life size board games and children’s favourites such as Scooby Doo, Peter Rabbit, Super Heroes and more, Chalk Bomb Charity have made the streets a fun and safe place to play.
After their early street art they soon realised that not only were their neighbours and friends enjoying the chalk imagery and interactions but many locals were including it in their daily walks during the toughest stages of lockdown. Encouragement from others to use the pictures as a way of fundraising planted a seed in their minds….. could they use their chalk etchings to raise money?
The concept is simple – by using interactive street art to create fun, Chalk Bomb Charity can raise funds for important causes. Previously they have raised almost £800 for the UK Zoos!
Chalk Bomb Charity have now started fundraising in support of Mind, the mental health charity, chalk ‘bombing’ positive affirmations on our local streets. They believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. Mind are here for everyone. Today. Now. Whether you’re stressed, depressed or in crisis. Mind listen, give support and advice, and fight your corner. The mental health pandemic is incoming and we need to give them the support they need to tackle it head on.
Here’s a few more examples of their work.
