The name is a bit of a giveaway for the design theme for the play equipment – Farmer Fred’s Playbarn is a children’s indoor play centre that opened in December 2010 and is a welcome addition to the attractions in North Norfolk. Being situated right next to the Norfolk Lavender Centre and the Rare Breeds Animal Centre means you and your family could always take in one of these other attractions on the same day.
7 year old:- I had lots of fun at Farmer Fred’s Playbarn and thought the farm theme was cool. I think I went on the big slide about a thousand times. Mum said she was glad I had a long sleeve t-shirt on because the big slide goes so mega fast it can burn elbows!
My kids love going to family play centres, so when we heard a new one (Farmer Fred’s Paybarn) had opened in Norfolk we were pleased to have somewhere new to go. It is a bit of trek from Norwich, but certainly worth the journey because the kids really enjoyed it. It was nice to sit down and enjoy a drink whilst watch them having fun on the play equipment. They enjoyed the slides, climbing the tower, bashing through the bish-bash obstacles and playing in the interactive play area. The food was nice and reasonably priced, which is more than you can say for a lot of indoor play centres!
Would we visit Farmer Fred’s again? Absolutely. Because of the distance it won’t be a monthly thing but I think a couple of times a year combined with other attractions (such as the two next door, or Hunstanton SeaLife centre) will be a viable option.
