The UK has an amazing 15,000 species of fungi, all of which are essential to the health of our ecosystems. Join our Nature Reserve Guide to explore the pinewoods and dunes, which play host to some spectacular, rare and fascinating fungi. From the elusive Tiny Earthstar to the brazen Dune Stinkhorn, you will be amazed at the variety and abundance of these Autumnal gems.
This walk is suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over. It will last for around 3 hours and include a variety of terrains – we suggest dressing for the weather and bringing water and snacks with you, plus binoculars if you have them. Your ticket includes parking and a well-earned coffee and cake at The Lookout after the walk. Your car park pass will be issued to you by the guide, before your walk. Meet at The Lookout at the top of Lady Anne’s Drive, Holkham. We are sorry, but dogs are not allowed on this walk.
Please wear clothing suitable for weather conditions and off-road walking. Bring cameras. Field guides and notes will be provided Meet outside The Lookout 10 minutes before the start of the walk. * Please note, this event will focus on identifying fungi – we will not be collecting any for consumption.
