Downham Market is to be transformed into a sea of red jackets and white beards when the town council hosts a Santa run in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
The fun run – that can simply be a jog or a walk if participants prefer – will encompass two laps of a half-mile circuit around the town. It is to take place this Sunday, 3 December, getting under way at 3pm.
Jason Slack, EACH West Norfolk Regional Fundraiser, said: “We’re delighted to be benefiting from this event, which seems a great way to get yourself in the Christmas spirit! We hope our West Norfolk supporters will continue engaging in yuletide festivities in the week to come by attending our carol service at King’s Lynn Minster on Wednesday (6 December) at 7pm.”
Tickets are £10 for adults, a price that includes a Santa suit and medal, and £5 for children under 13, which includes a Santa hat and medal.
EACH provides care and support for children with life-threatening conditions in Norfolk and across the region, delivering more than half its service in the community at family homes and hospitals. It costs the charity almost £6 million a year to do what it does.
