A Local Bereavement Charity To Host The First Open Garden Of 2019 At Bishop’s House In Norwich
The Bishop’s House Garden has kindly invited local bereavement charity, Norwich & Central Norfolk Cruse Bereavement Care to host the first open day of the year on Sunday 12th May, between 1pm – 5pm.
The garden is only open to the public for a limited number of days each year so it is a rare opportunity to view the beautiful and historic 12th century, 4-acre walled garden which has belonged to the Bishop of Norwich for the past 900 years.
Becky Bushell, Norwich & Central Norfolk Cruse Bereavement Care fundraiser commented: “We are delighted to have been selected by the Bishop’s House to be their chosen charity for the first open day of the 2019 season. We will have lots of our supporters at the garden on the day, running family friendly activities, a second hand book stall, plant sale and raffle where our main prize is a family ticket to Windsor Castle. There will also be live music from the BroadBeat Choir and most importantly, we will be serving lots delicious home-made cakes and refreshments. This is a special opportunity for members of the public to view a beautiful, formal garden in the centre of Norwich and we hope lots of people will come along to see the gardens in all their splendour!’
Norwich & Central Norfolk Cruse Bereavement Care has a team of 60 volunteers working locally to offer specialist bereavement support to adults in Norwich & throughout Norfolk. It offers a range of free services including one-to-one support, a telephone enquiry line, and a Monday morning social group. All proceeds raised on the day will help fund operational costs so the charity can continue to provide this vital support to bereaved adults in the local area.
