COAST Festival

Known locally as the COAST festival, the Cromer and Sheringham Art and Literary festival for 2014 is  held during the autumn half term.  The festival will be launched on the 24th October with an evening featuring the young blues singer Ron Sayer at the White Horse in Overstrand, followed by an exceptional week of exhibitions, music, poetry, dancing and fun, on the theme of ‘War and Peace’.
 Highlights of this years festival are an exhibition of photographs from Sir Michael Savory’s personal archive at Muckleburgh, two special afternoons of poetry at the Virginia Court Hotel, a war-time sing along at the Sheringham Little Theatre Hub, creative workshops on writing and film-making, a musical afternoon with the Honeybirds at the Sea Marge in Sheringham, and a circus afternoon in the Cromer Community Hall.
Sally Wallace, Chair of this years festival says “This year, building on the successes of the last 4 years,  we are holding two exciting competitions to encourage creativity amongst our communities.  there will be a painting competition on the theme of ‘Poppies’, and a short film competition.”
