Why train with Escrima Concepts?
We teach an exciting martial art for adults, that uses weapons, unarmed and more. Escrima Concepts is an international organisation with clubs across the UK and Europe.
Don’t worry if you have never done any kind of martial art before, we have friendly patient instructors who will teach you from scratch.
If you are already an experienced martial artist and looking for a new challenge, we would love to see you too. We welcome anyone who is willing to learn and train.
Do you need to be fit to start Escrima Concepts?
Not at all, but you will get “fighting fit” as a result of training with us.Your balance and co-ordination will also improve as a result.
Why train with weapons?
You may ask why you need to train with weapons at all, since you don’t carry weapons on you.
While you might be a law abiding citizen, that doesn’t mean everyone else is. Weapons can be concealed in clothing or bags, and they can be improvised from everyday objects. If someone picks up a bottle, a phone, or a pocket torch, that object becomes a weapon.
Weapons are all around us, and the best chance of defending yourself against them is to understand how to use them.
We’ll show you what works, and what doesn’t, and highlight the common mistakes that are made with weapons defence.
Training with weapons also improves your strength, timing, and co-ordination, making you stronger, faster, and fitter, and we show you how the body mechanics behind the weapons transition to the unarmed, enhancing your abilities and making you more powerful unarmed and empty handed.
Aren’t weapons dangerous?
Safety is our top priority and as a beginner we will teach you the basics of movement, structure and footwork, with no speed or power, and as time goes on, you will progress in your training in a controlled method without injuring yourself or your training partner.
Escrima Concepts Norwich has been open since 2013 and all of our students are still in one piece!
Where are the classes?
We have two classes available per week
Wednesday 6.30pm to 8pm at The Hub, Unit 51 Hall Road
Friday 6pm to 7pm .at The Hub, Unit 51 Hall Road
Parking is available.
There’s no uniform required. Just turn up in loose comfortable clothing and (clean) indoor trainers.Age Range:
